Soldering Kits for soldering gold and silver are great as they are portable and run on butane lighter gas. There are two makes of solder torch which are both well known. The Clarke solder torch is British made and is well known throughout the U.K.. The Proxxon solder torch is made in Germany known for there high quality small tools to the jewellery industry. Both torches have an adjustable flame ( 12 - 32mm ), electronic instant ignition, refillable 26 geams or 1.56 fl. oz. butane fuel tank with safety lock. Each torch can gain a temperature of 1300 C, 90 mins of operating time and comes with hands free stand. Each soldering kit contains a jewellers soldering torch ( Clarke or Proxxon ) monalux soldering block for soldering on, borax dish and cone ( jewellers flux for soldering ) , brush, soldering tweezers with heat pads to protect fingers, 2 strips of sterling silver solder (easy which has a low melting point and the medium which has a higher melting point.
